“Divine mercy is not a secondary devotion, but an integral dimension of Christian faith and prayer” says Pope Benedict XVI. The most unfortunate thing with regard to the Divine Mercy Message received by St Faustina is that even now many approach, accept and communicate it, merely as one of the forms of Christian devotions. The Divine Mercy message is given in fact to prepare the world for the Second Coming of Christ which is yet to be understood by the world. Far from being a form of devotion, we can perceive the fundamentals of the basic Christian spirituality in it, the way as a Christian we are supposed to live in expectation of the arrival of our bride groom .The Global Divine Mercy Foundation is dedicated to a rigorous studying of the fundamentals of the Divine Mercy message and to promulgate it as the effectual tool of the new evangelization.
The Global Divine Mercy Foundation propagates the Divine Mercy Spirituality with the burning desire that the Message of God’s merciful love,proclaimed through St. Faustina as ‘The Last Hope of Salvation’ may be made known to all the people of earth, and fill their hearts with hope. We invite everyone to live a life of contemplating God’s Mercy continually , trusting in God’s Mercy , pleading God’s Mercy through out the life for us and for the entire world, and eventually be merciful always ,so that God’s Mercy may envelope our own lives.
The Global Divine Mercy Foundation came in to existence totally under the divine providence.Br Babu Paul, and Br Baiju Menachery ,former missionaries in North East India had personal encounter with the Merciful Lord during the years 2012 and 2013 while they were living in two different countries, which led them to read the Diary of St Faustina and they began to feel an urgency to proclaim the message of Divine Mercy. In 2014 the Lord revealed 16 different topics and the key points of the Divine Mercy retreat . At the end of that year Late Rev Fr Anto Kannampuzha VC who was the director of Potta Asram, invited them to give a few sessions on Divine Mercy during the growth retreats. Under his spiritual direction, a retreat team was formed to proclaim God’s Mercy. In the first half of the year 2015,acknowledging that these inspirations and messages are the part of the plan of God, The Jubilee Year of Mercy was announced by the Holy Father .The team had been totally equipped by this time to animate retreats on Divine Mercy. Whole through the Jubilee Year ,they conducted many Divine Mercy retreats and organised several Divine Mercy Exhibitions including a big convention called “The Divine Mercy Congress” at the closing of the Year of Mercy. .Br Babu and Br Baiju became instrumental in the hands of God to write down a few books and a number of articles on Divine Mercy during this period
Following closely the divine promptings, in 2017 they started writing a book on the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which was a great turning point in their lives, as they were led by the spirit to a deeper understanding of the mystery of the Divine Mercy .After two years, in the second week of December2019 the book “Prayer for the present times” was released. Just a few days after the publishing of the book, the Lord individually stirred their hearts to begin a whatsapp mission to pray for the dying. Surprisingly It was almost the same weeks that the pandemic broke out in China. On 1st January 2020, under the spiritual direction of Rev Fr. Joy Pulickal CMF,a whatsapp group was formed, which was the beginning of the Global Divine Mercy Foundation. In the following months through these whatsapp groups, the Lord prepared and inspired thousands of prayer warriors to be spiritually present at the death bed of the covid patients , obtaining God’s Mercy for them at the last hour through the Chaplet of Mercy
In the second week of February 2020,The Global Divine Mercy Foundation organised for the first time the Divine Mercy Hospice Course ,a unique course on how to prepare the dying under the direction of Rev Fr. Thomas Ambattukuzhiyil .Before long, the whole world slipped in to a lockdown and soon the ministry became more operative in the online platform bringing together thousands of people from different parts of the world to contemplate on Gods mercy amidst the challenges raised by the pandemic.
